Skyshelves vs Competition
THE ANCHORS
SkyShelves  Competition
         skyshelves anchor          competition anchor
Upon first glance of the competitions anchor, doesn't it  look crude as compared to the Skyshelves anchor ? What's the need to bolt a gaudy angle iron to the ceiling if you could have a sleek looking anchor like the Skyshelves anchor ? Especially considering that the competition needs to drill one extra hole into the ceiling. The Skyshelves anchor is better looking, more practical, it's easier to install, it consumes less space, you drill one less hole and  it has a higher weight bearing capacity. What's not to love ?
Which anchor would you rather have in your home ?

THE ARMS
Skyshelves  Competition
         skyshelves arm          competition arm
If you go into almost any commercial building and look up at the ceiling, what you will see is the duct systems being supported by all thread support arms, just like the Skyshelves support arm you see here on the left . You won't see angle iron support systems like the competition uses on the right. Why ?  Because angle iron supports are inadequate, impractical, not cost effective and they consume more space. The Skyshelves support is smaller, more practical, more cost effective, easier to use, higher quality, better looking, and it has a higher weight bearing capacity. What's not to love ?
Which arm would you rather have in your home ?

THE SHELVES
Skyshelves  Competition
        skyshelf           competitors shelf
Upon first glance doesn't the competitions shelf look gaudy as compared to the smooth surface of the Skyshelf ? The competitions shelf looks like someone tore the grill off of a Sherman tank and bolted it to their ceiling doesn't it ?  It's overkill! Whatever happened to simplicity ? One of the great things about Skyshelves is that you can use whatever shelving material you want. When we do custom jobs we use a melamine coated particleboard (pictured). For mail order kits you can use plywood or whatever you may have hanging out in the woodshed . One of the issues you'll run into  with the competitions open wire mesh shelf  is that the lips and edges of boxes get caught in  the wire as your trying to slide stuff around on it, it's troublesome, and smaller items can fall through. The smooth surface of the Skyshelf eliminates both those issues, isn't that a more practical design ? Skyshelves makes for smooth sailing, they're simple and non-complicated. They're more practical, less costly and are easier for the homeowner to install should they choose to do so themselves. What's not to love ?
Which shelf would you rather have in your home ?

Here are a few other oppositional negatives.
That Skyshelves would turn into a positive which you might want to consider.
photoSee this shelf to the left here ? It's in a corner. See how the 3 corners against the wall are supported from the ceiling? This is an unnecessary step and an improper way to support this shelf. This shelf  would get laughed off of most commercial projects. At the point where a shelf would have contact with a wall, what you would then want to do is to transfer the weight of that shelf, from the ceiling to the wall itself, and eliminate those three back arms, by either bolting the shelf to the wall itself or connecting the shelf to the top of a ledger which is bolted to the wall. Doesn't that make more sense? To a trained eye this is an unprofessional looking shelf. You would  never see a Skyshelves overhead storage unit that's placed in a corner looking like this. The Skyshelves system is a more practical and professional system. Skyshelves are a smarter design
photoDo you see where these two shelves to the left meet one another? Each shelf has an independent arm and the two arms meet one another, then they both share the same angle iron support. Wouldn't a more proper design  be for these two shelves to share the same arm where they meet? When two Skyshelf sections meet, they share the same supporting arm. If this were a Skyshelf you would see one sleek looking arm connected to the ceiling, it's more practical and more professional looking. In addition to Skyshelves being a more efficient and handsome design, they are less bulky and more homeowner friendly. A Skyshelves arm would be consuming 1/2" of space rather than the 2-1/2" of space you see consumed here. And wouldn't you agree that sometimes those extra couple of inches make all the difference ?
Skyshelves are a smarter design.

The 5 factors most important to consider are, practicability, cost, appearance, quality and ease of installation. Complete some research of the market and you'll see about a half dozen different companies that are marketing some form of a metal grid system. You'll see a bunch of shelves on steroids. They all appear relatively the same in shape, size and appearance, and all of them are the self proclaimed industry leader. You'll see similar type products that all have minuscule differences from one another and all are claiming to be unique, they put their own little twist on it for the purpose of writing a patent. The industry has become full of rhetoric and much more complex and complicated than it needs to be. Skyshelves are a smarter and less complicated design. Skyshelves deliver equal or higher weight bearing capacity and cubic feet of storage, they're prettier, more practical, easier to install, more versatile and  less expensive!

Were so competent that we even allow our competitors to advertise on our website. You won't see any of our competitors doing that ! We encourage you to click on some of the advertisements you see to the left, see for yourself, we have nothing to fear.
